I started out playing D&D in 1979. I spent my young adult years in Whitewater, WI. I had the good fortune in college to have made friends with Neil Christiansen from Lake Geneva who happened to know most everyone at TSR. And I ended up being his +1 and meeting many of them as a result.
I also personally struck up a friendship with Rob Kuntz when he lived in Whitewater and played D&D and some Diplomacy with him. I have played most editions of D&D, except for 4E.
Up until recently, I had only been a player in D&D. I had run some other systems, though. Most notably, Talislanta, Marvel Super-Heroes and most recently, Marvel Heroic Roleplay. It has only been this past year, starting my new job at the Marlborough Public Library that I have begun DMing for our adults. And I'm loving it!
To a degree, I am edition-agnostic. I will include content for any edition, play any edition. But I can say that my favorite editions so far have been Basic, 2E and 5E. Since I currently run 5E, most of my content will be for its most recent iteration, D&D 2024. Though I will sometimes also make forays into older editions when it makes sense to.
Just a note, there are two personas I'll be using to sign my work.
The first is Laughingmad. My own personal pseudonym that will be used for my rules-based content or real-world commentary. Signed LM.
The second is C.K. Watt. Fictional character who will serve as an in-universe narrator and historian. (Also, a private joke.) Signed CKW.
