Zeppelid (Huge to Gargantuan Monstrosity, Unaligned)

 


ZEPPELID

They are huge to gargantuan lair-dwelling creatures. They extract lighter-than-air gases from their environment and contain them within their blimp-like bodies. Spread across the creature's body are small wings that it uses to propel itself, thought it much prefers to drift in the wind than to fly itself.

Using its keen eyesight (ranging from the microscopic to telescopic) to great advantage, it eats microbes in the air, sea plankton from bodies of water, and the leafy tops of tall trees. If it is every hungry, it may even eat meat. They are peaceful creatures, but can be fierce when defending themselves or their young.

Two main guilds have particular interest in their domestication and use. The Simic Guild breeds and trains them. The Izzet League harnesses them and uses them as a form of aerial mass transit, profiting from the fares they generate and using them as vehicles for further research and development.
